An expanding family in the bayside suburb of Drumcondra had purchased a dated home that was in need of renovations and improvements to cater for a new lifestyle and add modern conveniences. Existing flooring was replaced with a thermally-rated flooring product and in the process, additional insulation was added to assist with the hydronic heating to keep the house warm throughout winter. The hydronic heating system was only the second of its kind installed in Australia at the time. The client also wanted a high energy rating for the residence with regards to insulation so a window manufacturer was sourced from America to provide high performance glazing and the home was also entirely re-clad externally. Extensive kitchen and bathroom renovations were also carried out for the client on this project.
